Game 3 Pittsburgh 1 @ Edmonton 6 (F)

Pittburgh 1 @ Edmonton 2 (F)
Edmonton Come Back Strong in Game 3
The Oilers came back home with their backs to the wall and came out flying. With only 45 seconds into first, center Sean Horcoff batted down a clearing attempt after Fleury made a couple of nice saves and buried the puck in the net unassisted. Oilers kept the pressure piled up and the new look second line found chemistry early as Nedved and Lupul scored to put the Oilers up 3-0 after 1.
Early in the third the tied changed as the Pittburgh pressed and Ryan Malone found a hole in the Oilers defence and put the vistors on the board. The momentum shift was short lived as minutes later Fleury tried to pass the pack behind the net but the post got in the way and the puck slid into the empty net. Coach Goldstone decided it was time to pull his young goal tender and put in Thibault. For the first part he faired better until rookie ruffian Zach Stortini finished off a passing play to make the game 5-1. Later Horcoff bookended the scoring by finding twine in a broken down play. Both teams seemed to ease up at that point trying to save some energy for the battle that would be game 4.
