Pittsburgh 1 @ Edmonton 0 (2ND OT)

Both teams came out in this one looking to steal that first game in the shortened series. Although cautious through most the early periods both teams applied pressure and held back at responsible times creating a chess match of sorts.

As the game progressed the teams opened up some but you could sense there was spots being picked as neither team wanted to give the other that slight advantage. It took 5 hard battled periods before this one ended when Ryan Malone was able to solve the Oilers netminder, with a quick low shot off a loose puck in the slot. The Pens were lucky to have even survived that far as they escaped an earlier flury from the Oilers resulting in Hemski ripping one off the post that left shivers running down Fleury's spine every time they gained the zone after that.
