Toronto 1 @ Edmonton 2

Toronto 1 @ Edmonton 2 (F)
Leafs and Oil Slug it out at Rexall
The Maple Leafs came for a visit out west to battle with the Oilers. Both teams came out tentative and playing some tight defence as neither goalie gave up any rebounds or daylight. The first period ended with no goals being scored.
The second period started with much of the same until just over five minutes in when home town boy Joffrey Lupul finished off a nice passing play from Pisani to beat Raycroft high glove side. The play continued back and forth until Ethan Moreau found himself in the slot with the puck. The defensive journeymen who suddenly found himself in an offensive role showed some hands by rifling a wrist shot over the blocker of Raycroft.
The Leafs did not turn over and change colors but stormed the Oilers net. However, Oilers Goalie Roloson kept all the shots at bay until the 3 minute mark of the third as Thomas Steen finished off a nice passing play from Stajan to slip the puck five hole by Roloson. With chances at both ends, neither goalie gave up any room for the rest of the game and the Oilers held on for their 6th win of the season.
