Oilers Storm Back Against Hurricanes
A wild finish to a tight game. The Hurricanes stormed the Oilers with two short handed goals until the Oilers final converted on the powerplay with a nice move by Ales Hemsky to tie it early in the third. Shortly after, Letowksi was able to finish off a nice play to put the defending Cup champs up. With less than a minute to go, it looked like it was all but over for the Western Conference defending champs. However the tide turned as with 36 seconds left, J. Lupul was able to complete a two on one to tie the game. But with a night of strange occurences neither team felt safe as the play went back and forth.
With just a few ticks left on the clock, Sean Horcoff found himself with the puck in front of Cam Ward and was able to squeeze it through the pads of the star goalie to win it for the Oilers with just 3 seconds left.
