Finals - Game 2: San Jose 1 @ Vancouver 0 (OT)

Defense is the name of the game.

After a short layoff and some pep talks both teams were geared to continue the War and start game 2. "It's sure nice to get that first one under your belt", explained Nabokov, "but I have a feeling both teams will be better in game 2". Nabokov would be right. Similarly to game 1, both teams continued to have even stats through game 2, with the exception of the Sharks winning most faceoffs and the Canucks hitting like trucks.

After 60 minutes of play, both teams were exhausted physically and mentally. Vancouver's leading scoring defenseman for the regular season, Salo, stated, "I don't a goal is ever going to be scored in this game. The goalies are just playing that good". After a few brilliant saves, Coach Dragon explained to reporters, "Loungo is the reason I wanted to come to Vancouver".

Although both teams were pristine in the first 60 minutes, someone would have to make a mistake at one point. The Canucks would be the team to do so first. Again, the Sharks speed was able to breakdown the Canuck defence and give the Sharks another breakaway. Previously Loungo stopped every deke he faced...and Clowe took note. As Clowe came in on Loungo he made a few moves and then shot 5-hole on Loungo. It would work as Loungo was expecting to have to throw the pad out to make the save. The Sharks would gain home ice advantage and head home with a 2 game lead in the Cup Finals!
