Game 3: San Jose 3 @ Edmonton 2

Another nail biter!

The 3rd game of the series would be like no other in the series so far. Edmonton would change their strategy from a defensive system to an offensive system, and it would work. Edmonton would get an early lead from a rocket that went top shelf from Hemsky. The Oilers would keep the pressure coming and it would pay off when Torres banged home a loose puck to put the Oilers up by a 2 goal lead.

But the Sharks would not be out done. The Sharks would quickly storm back and tie up the game with goals from Bell and Cheechoo. The first period would end with more goals scored than there has been all series long.

In the 3rd period both teams would go back to their defensive style hockey and shutdown each other at every chance. The Sharks however would take the lead on a loose puck goal of their own. After a blocked shot, the puck would end up in the feet of a few players. However the puck would trickle towards the net and Thornton stabbed at it and put it through Roloson's pads to take the lead.

Stats:
23 shots 28
24 hits 39

3 Stars:
Thornton 1 1
Horcoff 0 2
Nabokov 26 0
