Carolina gets the season started by travelling to Pitt to face Goldstone. The game was close throughout, but a few mistakes by the Pitt goalie led to 3 Hurricane goals by Cole, Belanger, and Staal. Ward held on for the 3-0 Carolina victory. Good game Goldstone.

Game 2 Pitt 2 Vs Car3 SO

In the rematch, things again were very even between the teams, but both sides were able to put some goals on the board. Carolina started with a goal by Wallin, but Pitt answered quickly in the 2nd with a goal by Crosby. Wesley began the 3rd with a breakaway goal and Leclair tied it late in the 3rd to force extras. The extra period was for naught and a shootout was played for the win. Ward would come up big for the Hurricanes as he stopped both shots and Staal and Cole scored on their shots to give Carolina the victory in the shootout. Another good game Goldstone. Good luck the rest of the way.
