Game 1: Tampa Bay @ Dallas
Playoffs Officially Begin!!
The playoffs officially began Friday night when Tampa Bay and Dallas took the ice in their best of 5 series.
Dallas showed early on why they were ranked 2nd in the league. With early chances they were finally able to put one by Denis, when Hagman wristed a shot top shelf over Denis' glove. It wouldn't last long though, cause minutes later St. Loius broke in short handed and put it 5-hole to tie the game. After a second Dallas goal, Tampa was able to score again to tie it up on a controversial goal. After a shot taken by Taylor, Fedetenko kicked in the puck into a wide open net but the goal stood. "It was a bush league call" responds Sydor when asked about the goal, "This is the playoffs. Stuff like that shouldn't count". After the goal the Dallas fans were silent, and the Stars feared that might be the turning point in the game. But Dallas was able to get a lucky one back when the puck dribbled over Denis' shoulder and in. With only a couple minutes left, Modano put the nail in the coffin. Dallas was able to get 4 goals on only 15 shots.
