Toronto 2 @ Phoenix 1

The Leafs brought their 4-game winning streak into Phoenix to take on Hailsux and the Coyotes. Andrew Raycroft once again got the start in goal for Toronto, with former Leaf Curtis Joseph in net for Phoenix.

The two teams were feeling each other out for the first 12 minutes, with both squads getting great chances off their rushes, only to be foiled by the goaltenders. Young Coyotes phenom Ladislav Nagy put the Coyotes on the board first, wristing a beauty by Raycroft's left shoulder and into the roof, making it 1-0.

The Leafs tied it in the 2nd, on a beautiful passing play around the Phoenix zone, finished off by a Mats Sundin blast into a fairly wide open net, Joseph being fooled by the quick tic-tac-toe passing from the Leafs.

The game winner came off a busted play, Michael Peca tried to go one on one with a Coyotes D-man, only to have the puck poked off his stick...however Kyle Wellwood smartly followed up the play and was able to roof home a quick shot and put the Leafs up 2-1.

The Leafs were able to hold off the Coyotes the rest of the way to pick up a 2-1 victory, their 5th in a row and improving their record to 8-1.
