San Jose 1 @ Toronto 2
After a flawless game against the Sabres, the Leafs came home to face the powerhouse Sharks, one of only two teams to hand the Leafs a loss this season. The Leafs were definitely lacking the skill and energy they showed against Buffalo, but somehow came out of the game with the two points.
San Jose took the play to Toronto early and often, testing Leaf standout netminder Andrew Raycroft. The Sharks finally solved Raycroft in the second, taking the lead 1-0. Early in the third Mats Sundin took over, driving to the net, grabbing a bouncing puck and flipping it over Nabokov's pad, tying the game at 1-1.
The Sharks didn't give up many chances, but the few that they made were costly. A defensive lapse sent Mats Sundin with Jeff O'Neill driving to the net on a 2-1, Sundin threaded the needle to O'Neill and the Toronto native buried the game winner past Nabokov, giving the Leafs a comeback win.
