New Jersey Devils 3 - Ottawa Senators 1

Devils Perfect On Season

ScotiaBank Place

Associated Press

New Jersey continued its dominance of the Senators improving to 3-0 on the season with a hard fought 3-1 victory. The Devils and Senators did the unthinkable...while still in full uniform, both teams boarded a space rocket, which got them across the US-Canadian boarder in no time to pull off the second half of this double header.

After a touching rendition by the organist of "Oh Canada", the Senators were pumped and able to strike first before the crowd could find their seats. Dany Heatley found the back of the net just 1:35 into the game. They enjoyed the lead for most of the period until Patrik Elias was able to follow up his own rebound again to tie the score at 1-1 with 2:10 left in the period. Both teams might as well played with the lights out at nothing eventful happened in the second period. In the third period, the Devils red hot Power Play was given another opportunity and was able to convert a bad turnover in front of their net. Scott Gomez did the damage finding the back of the net at 13:41. Not wanting to sit back on their lead, the Devils attacked and on his gimpy hip, Alexander Mogilny was able to put the game on ice sliding a rebound through the legs of Martin Gerber with 2:32 to play.

Good games Frankididou, you played well and it was good t finally meet you.
