In a tight defensive battle where the goalies shone, the Edmonton Oilers won a not necessarily well earned victory in 1-0 regulation win. Dwayne Roloson was on the top of his game on the way to a first star selection, keeping all 32 shots he faced out of the net as the Habs had trouble beating the 36 year old net minder. Assistant Captain and the heart of the Oil team Ryan Smyth had the only goal as he finished off a timely one timer feed.
