It was deja vu all over again as Edmonton Oilers eeked out another 1-0 win with Ryan Smyth scoring the only goal and Dwayne Roloson shutting the door. This time it was the Desert Dogs that was the opposition and the game was a "defensive struggle" with neither team giving an inch, except when it came to hip checks. The intensity of the game was felt early as ex-patriot Laraque laid the body to several of his former teammates and Oiler speedy rearguard Bergeron injured one of the Yotes d-men with a healthy and legal hip check. Both teams had some great scoring chances but were stymied by brillant goaltending or some very unfortunate bounces.
