Dallas 3 @ New Jersey 1

With Dallas coming off a huge win back home, they knew they would need to play another solid game if they wanted to have a chance of winning another.

Dallas came on strong early on and had some good quality chances. But it wasn't until a shot slowly slipped under Broduer's stomach that they were able to put one by him. With the early lead, Dallas seemed to play sloppier thinking they could easily win this one too. But Gomez proved them wrong by scoring on a beautiful pass on a 2 on 1 that he roofed glove side that Turco had no chance of saving.

The 2nd period looked gleam for the Stars, as Gomez's goal game them life. Again, Turco was able to stand on his head and keep the Devils off the score board, until Ott was able to easily deak out Broduer for the eventual game winner. That goal took the crowd out of the game, and the Devils were never able to get the momentum back.

In the 3rd period, again, Modano was able to easily slip one by Broduer....who later reveiled that he had pulled a muscle on Dallas' first goal of the game. Doctors will evaluate Broduer at a later date, but presume it is a minor injury.

Will Dallas be the surprise team of the league, or will these wins prove to be a fluke? Dallas' next opponent will try to prove the latter.

Great writeups critter! Loved the Brodeur injury part. You played very well. I'm definitely frustrated with myself. I'll be looking for a rematch in the future!

Thanks. I thought Brodeur let you down that game, so I thought I would add that in. Thanks for the games...and of course we'll have to play again sometime.
