Dallas 2 @ Edmonton 4 (F)

Bitter Rivalry Begins Anew

The dreaded Dallas Star came calling once more to Edmonton and hostilities were renewed in a tough physical battle. Jarret Stoll gave the Oilers the lead early as the Oilers pressed early and often in the first. Marty Turco was solid keeping the Oilers at bay until the Stars reversed the flow. In the second, Ales Hemsky scored just after an Oiler PP to move the Oilers up to 2-0. Dwayne Roloson held his ground as both Modano and Morrow were able to break in alone. Turco returned the favour to you Oilers rookie, Marc-Andre Pouliot.
As the third begin however, both goalies faltered, Turco letting a pouliot slapper from just inside the blue line go in and Roloson looking kind of lazy on a rebound goal by Barnaby. But both shut the door for the rest of the 3rd period until Ryan Smyth finished of a nice passing play to seemingly set the game at 4-1 with less then 50 seconds left in the game. The new stars captain, Brendan Morrow wanted to send a message late with less than 15 seconds left, firing a bullet past Roloson. Somehow I don't think the Oil got the message for the second game!

Dallas @ Edmonton
