Coyotes @ BlackHawks
Chicago 2 Phoenix 1
This was the second game of the home and home between these two (some would say unfancied) teams and the BlackHawks gained revenge for a heartbreaking defeat in the previous encounter. They dominated the Coyotes in both the first and second period's with the Yotes managing zero SOG in the first and just two in the second, but they hung on by their coat tails as the Hawks couldn't capitalise an their advantage with just a goal from Pavel Vorobiev separating the two teams going into the break (even though he's gone to Russia for this season!). The Coyotes got back into the game after finding some offense from Pavel Brendl to even the scores at one before Martin Havlat popped up to slip the puck five hole after deking Cujo left and opening the gap down below. The Hawks then hung on grimly to take their first two points of the league.
Shots on goal - 26 BlackHawks 8 Phoenix
Three Stars - 1st Martin Havlat (Chi)
2nd Pavel Brendl (Pho)
3rd Curtis Joseph (Pho)
Chicago Stats
Havlat 1+0
Vorobiev 1+0
Smolinski 0+1
Calder 0+1
Khabibulin 8sh 7sv 87.5%sp
Thanks for two great games Hailsux, hope to catch you online sometime for an exhibition!

Not sure if this makes any difference or not, but I was home for game one and Hailsux was home for game two - not as it currently says!
