Buffalo 1 @ Toronto 2 (OT)

In a hectic day, the Leafs prepared to play their 4th game of the afternoon against Netcrawler and the high flying Buffalo Sabres. The Leafs put their hot goaltender Andrew Raycroft to face the Sabres, with Ryan Miller providing the opposition.

Both teams were flying early, Chris Drury and Maxim Afinogenov getting huge chances off the rush only to be stoned by Raycroft. Mats Sundin hit the post behind Ryan Miller and Jeff O'Neill failed to convert a beautiful Sundin pass later in the first.

Afinogenov was finally able to beat Raycroft to put the Sabres up 1-0, burying a juicy rebound the Leaf goalie gave up off a one-timer. The Leafs struggled to tie this game, trying to penetrate the tough Buffalo D and coming up empty. In the second, Jeff O'Neill figured he would throw one at the net from a near impossible angle, but the puck bounced off Miller's pad, then off his skate and in the net to tie the game at 1-1.

The teams played a goalless third period and went to overtime getting one point each. Both teams traded chances with the extra skating room, but Mike Peca was the hero tonight, finishing off a gorgeous O'Neill pass and putting it into the top corner stick side on Ryan Miller, giving the Leafs a 2-1 overtime win.
