The second game of the season for Ottawa beginned with strong opposition from Buffalo. The Sabers did not let go one second as they keep shooting on Gerber. The Sens goalie did great, stopping 23 shots shutting down Buffalo hopes of winning.

The attack of the Sens never seemed to really get into motion but they scored nevertheless. Fisher scored during the second period with a back hand shot between the Saber's goalie legs.

Schaefer made sure the Sens kept the advance with a top corner during the third period.

Buffalo never stop attacking during the last minutes but for no avail.
